- To begin, visit this site from the Department of State which has great information for before and during your time abroad. Prior to going abroad make sure to register your travel plans with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. By doing so, you will receive the most current information from the State Department about the country to which you will be traveling. You will also be made aware of new Travel Warnings or Travel Alerts and resources available to American citizens during emergency situations.

All RIT studying abroad are required to attend a Bon Voyage pre-departure meeting which will cover important health and safety information. Students will be contacted by the RIT Education Abroad office with upcoming Bon Voyage dates. An copy of the Bon Voyage presentation can be found here.
